EDIT: Whoa guys, had no idea how many people were on board with a 21 year old kid getting 15 years for stealing a fucking poster. Yea dumb to go to NK, dumber to steal a poster (if he even did it). I don’t know any sane people that would support anything that NK does let alone this.

What did the stupid kid expect? First, just don’t go to North Korea. Second, don’t do anything without expressly asking your handlers for permission.
This kid is dead, he will not survive in a North Korean labor camp. If he does survive, he will be only a shell of a human being by the time he returns home.

Yea I agree that the first and main mistake was going to North Korea, but in a country like that who knows what really happened. Those fucks love the idea of having an American prisoner, they were probably like “well you can admit to this bullshit...or we can MURDER you.”
Regardless of weather or not this was a dumb move, 15 years is insane. They’d give me the chair for the shit I did when I was 21.

I agree, don’t go to DPRK, but he’ll serve little, if any, of that sentence. North Korea has a history of using international prisoners like this as political pawns to make a propaganda show of domestically and possibly use against sanctions internationally.

I would even question the footage. Even if he did do it, and the footage shows it and all of that. I was taken back by how many people on here were said it one form or another that he deserves it. No one deserves 15 years for stealing a poster.
